This month I want to share with you a little different monthly goals list because it’s funny how much life can change in a year. The timing of it is kinda perfect too, as this week is mental health awareness week.
Lol, gotta be honest here. Even I LOL’d when I re-read this post.. Leave it to me to go on a rant, while telling you on how to pick up an item that is sold out haha
Oh well. dont worry. I have cut it down, by like 5 pages. I think I might have been on a roll.
So welcome to my not a christmas haul because to be honest – I hate those freakin Christmas hauls and ‘What I got for Christmas guides’ that all bloggers and vloggers seem to be doing. Controversial I know, and I am sure I’m gonna get a few enemies in the blogosphere for say it out load too but I just had to get it off my chest. To me Christmas is personal. Giving presents is personal. At least it should be. So if you came here looking for a “oooo lemme show you all the cool stuff I got that’s gonna give you shopping envy” then you have come to the wrong place. However – if you wanna hear how I spent a day wandering around London, and visiting no less than 3 Anthropologie stores then my dear you are in luck!
I also realised I haven’t show you guys much of our flat, and as Fola puts it, it’s pretty Pinterest worthy! I’d photograph it all but the lighting in here this time of year is terrible so let’s start with my pride and joy. The fire place. Ok maybe not the fire place but more what’s in the fire place. Specifically the beautiful geometric copper handle holders or hurricane lanterns.
Believe it or not – these are what I trekked around London for.
Amazing right? Worth it right? No YOU have a shopping problem
Originally they came with a hefty price tag. Like I think the big one was £42! Who the frick has money for that?! AND there are four different sizes!
You might have seen them on the Anthropologie website, or even in store over the past two year. BUT NOT ANY MORE! Because guess what? They have been discontinued! SAY WHAAAAT?
So obviously when I found this out, I had a little mini breakdown, I cried and then I just accepted the fact that they will never be mine. It just wasn’t meant to be. Insert very sad Yasmine. I had put off buying them for too long and now I was paying the price.
Imagine my delight when I strolled into Anthropologie in Richmond and saw one hidden away on a dusty top shelf. If thats not a sign, I dont know what is! It was obviously meant to be mine, regardless of price. It turns out, there were still a few stores stocking a FEW at 50% off (so Im guessing they went like hot cakes.) Within 24 hours I had trekked from Richmond to Kings Road, where I found the the next size down, I rummaged through Anthropologie in Marylebone, Regents Street (called every other store in London) AND considered a trip to Scotland in hopes of finding the last two sizes, but by then my luck had obviously run out. Also I was kinda sweaty and over it by then.
So I have succumbed to the fact that out of 4, I have only been able to get my hands on two, at half price. But JUST LOOK AT HOW Beautiful they are!!
Anyway I know Anthropologie Kings Road had a few of them left. In case you want them then for yourself ?
Can we just take a minute and lol about how lengthy this post has turned out to be, and all you got out of it was how you wont be able to get these lanterns?!
Hello everybody, and welcome to the 4th day of the rest of your life. I mean year.
I had originally planned to post this on the 1st of January but as somebody spent NYE hacking my blog, I am now 4 days late into my 2017 blog schedule. What A GREAT way to start a-fresh. Also hacker dudes, don’t you have anything better to do then to spend NYE hacking some sad girl’s blog? In any case, I’m glad I could provide you with some form of entertainment to ring in your new year!
Today I accomplished something I haven’t done in a while. Today I woke up drunk. It brought back some glorious memories of my days at uni when Charlotte and I spent 10 days in a party haze and only sobered up to drive home to get to work a Saturday morning at 7am. Such rebellions, but as Dorothy says, somebody’s gotta raise a little hell. Which is btw like my favorite song at the moment! You should check it out watch?v=rmYyPcEQKU4
Last nights christmas party went luckily unpublished on social media, which I think is very lucky on my part, as I am proud to say it involved downing a Le Fizz cocktail and dancing on the dinner table at Circus like the filthy animals we are.
Arn’t you proud of me mom?! 😀
Alas no rest of the wicked, and there are designs that erm need designing. Is it socially acceptable to eat a pint of Ben&Jerry’s at work? Hello hangover cravings. I gotta admit, I am a little ashamed that we are on the 7th of December and I havent really shared any christmas goodies with you. Dont worry though, there is a festive little treat coming tomorrow about how to buy a secret santa presents – cause I am basically the boss at it. In the mean time you can check out my last years post about the best movies to watch if you arent ready to embrace the christmas movies yet, the best way to decorate AND assemble a gingerbread house, and some cheeky present ideas for her
Today I was supposed to get my hair cut, but my hairdresser quit. I was also gonna pop by Apple and see if they can fix my apple tv. Alas it’s almost 11am and I am still in bed so I guess that won’t be happening. If you’re waiting for my 2016 Halloween costume, you can keep on waiting. Cause it ain’t gonna happen. After spending weeks playing with my newly purchased glue gun, and channeling my inner child pulling out long lost paper mache skills, I didnt end up going out. The antlers felt a little too fancy for my sweatpants, Lempsip and sleep session. So now I have a pair of spare antlers with some furry ears kicking about if anybody wants an original Yasmine costume. It’s been 3 weeks of this random cold/flu thingy that just doesn’t seem to want to break out 100% or just F*** off. I had all these grand plans for the end of October, all these blog post to shoot and share with you. As you can probably tell that didn’t happen either.
I dont know about you but I can feel a trend happening here….
I feel like your life gets put on hold when you’re ill, and it takes forever to play catchup when you’re well.
Hashtag not a fan.
I also have like 3000+ pictures on my camera I need to go through as well… FML
Here’s to hoping November will be better!
Appologies for the generic stock image
As the weather is changing and it’s getting colder I figured it was time to share with you some of the things that are happening in London in the colder months of the year. Starting with the month of October! I don’t know if you have heard, but I LOVE this time of year. Seriously come September 1st I’m all like, ‘when can I layer?’, ‘when can I pull out my chunky knits?’, ‘is it too hot for wooly scarfs?’. I refuse to believe I am not alone, there is so much to look forward to this side of the year. Although I like to think I turn into a little hermit this time of year, this is probably my most social season. I get all tingly just thinking about snuggling up under a blanket on the sofa binging Netflix knowing its cold and dark outside but then there is all the Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas related events. The struggle is real.
For those of you who do go into hermit mode, purely because you are unaware of what the glorious Autumn season has to offer, I have compiled a list. London is ALWAYS booming with stuff to do. Plus it’s been a while since I have done one of these posts. This October you should most certainly check
Always wanted to out a silent disco? Why not do it at The Shard, 1,000 ft above London in the tallest building in Western Europe with the best views. You pick your channel and choose your side as three DJs battle it out over separate wireless channels, playing the best in pop, rock and party classics, while you dance the night away! For more info and tickets check out the Shard website here
There is always somewhere to eat in London, and there is always a food market to check out. This October its worth checking out Urban Food Fest in Shoreditch in the Euro Car Parks that has been transformed into an international food party. Dishes are served from food stalls and trucks, offering vegan hand-made pasta, Brazilian chorizo wraps, and pulled pork in brioche buns, just to name a few. There is a fully stocked bar to cater to everybody. Entry is food but the food, of course, is not. Open from noon to midnight, you have 12 hours to eat your heart out. Sometimes even with free cocktails. Check out their website here for more info
Ok, Im not gonna lie, I have a little soft spot for Kew Gardens, it might be because I now live locally but they always have fun things on. Right now they have an installation called Homemade at Kew. A craft and design from over 200 exhibitors. Carefully chosen designer present ceramics, jewellery, textiles, glass, paper, furniture, sculptures and more in the pavilion next to Kew Palace. You can pick up tickets here, which also gives you access to the whole of Kew Gardens!
This is one of the tings that makes London great. Every year London celebrates cocktails. For just £10, you get a wristband that entitles you to £5 cocktails in many of the best bars in London. You can find a new festival hub in Soho, the World Class House, offers retro and futuristic drinking experiences, while Old Spitalfields Market will be LCW party central. So of the festival events include classic cocktails made with vintage booze (1970s negroni, please) at Peg + Patriot, an LA takeover at White Lyan, rooftop gin masterclasses from Fever-Tree and a Patron Cocktail Lab with masterclasses from internationally renowned bartenders. Those are worth planning for! You can find more info about the festival here
Richmond Park is an ancient deer park, still home to around 300 red deer and 250 fallow deer and apparently marks annual deer rut. The huge red stage and fallow bucks roar, clashing antlers to fight off their rivals to attract females. If you had to the park around dawn and dusk you might be able to observe this display, one of London’s most majestic natural phenomena.
So over the weekend I did this lovely photoshoot of some new stuff I wanted share with you guys. I uploaded them to my computer, deleted them from my camera and thought no more of it. Until Monday night, when I sat down to edit them ready to post as part of my Tuesday Tips to you guys. Well as you know it is now Wednesday and yesterday showed no Tuesday tip post. Why? Because between the glitch in my brain and my laptop, the pictures vanished into the digital realm of nothingness and I am left rather unimpressed and slightly annoyed. Sod’s law, I also didn’t have a backup this week.. Sometimes even I am surprised over my own stupidity!
Oh well, maybe next weeks Tuesday tips will happen! Don’t count on it though, we all know me.
This is by the way my favourite new outfit. Shame I actually cant walk very far in heels any more, and also LOLZ at this pose and this face. Like what is going on? What am I doing? Im obviously failing on more than one level!
Ill show you more of it later, right now Im off to celebrate the lovely Lauren’s bday. Happy hump day babes!
Good morning you squidgey beauties!
You might have noticed something different. Like my twitter handle, and my instagram handle and you know.. my blog URL… It’s been a long time coming, but it was time. Time to take the jump and separate my blog from my design work. It was time this little puppy got its own domain and business cards. I feel so fancy haha and what better way to kick off October and Fall/Winter? Which is by the way, my FAVORITE time of the year! It’s also less of mouthful and hopefully easier for you to remember!
